Singing lessons and vocal coaching
I've taught singing since 2000. My lessons combine voice science with a practical approach, so you understand how your voice works, keep it healthy, and grow in confidence and artistry. Lessons are one-to-one, in my London studio or online.
Who the lessons are for
- Complete beginners who want to find their voice
- Intermediate and advanced singers who want to go further
- Singers getting ready for a gig, an audition or a recording
- Songwriters who want to sing their own songs with confidence
I teach contemporary styles. I don't teach classical or opera.
What we can work on
- Vocal technique and vocal health
- Breathing, range, power and tone
- Contemporary styles: jazz, pop, rock, R&B, musical theatre, folk
- Vocal improvisation and scat
- Performance and confidence
- Songwriting
What a lesson looks like
We start with a warm-up, then work on technique with exercises chosen for your voice and your goals. Then we use it in the songs you want to sing. You leave every lesson with a clear idea of what to practise before the next one.
Group classes and workshops
I teach singing classes at WM College in Camden. Over the years I've taught rock singing, jazz singing, singing for beginners and intermediate singers, musical theatre singing and songwriting. I also run workshops and masterclasses.
